Well it may or may not work dis regardless of performance because it might not have a 1366 mounting bracket. Plus, your vid cards would still be on air.

yea the whole concept really is silly and way to expensive... go water cooling

earwicker... if i had the monies like you do, this is what i would do.

you may notive a few things..

first of all, it has a i7 980 uber pawnage processor, that is good, but you also might notice instead of two 5970's i went with four(4) 5870's...

four 5870's would beat two 5970's and the ones i listed have awesome coolers on them, i would not wanter cool four 5870's, its a pain in the butt, plus the HAF X can only house a a triple radiator, and that would be soley for water cooling the processor, so that will save you a lot of money and those coolers that are on the 5870's are no slouches, they will give you awesome temperatures with plenty of head room for a nice overcock on them, plus they are MUCH MUCH quietier then the reference blower style coolers. anyway, here is what i would do

Case: $200
COOLER MASTER HAF X

Motherboard + CPU: $1355
EVGA 4 way classifed + i7 980X

Graphics cards: $1680
4X Lightning II Radeon HD 5870
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-509-_-Product

Power Supply: $380
SILVERSTONE ST1500

SSD: $230
OCZ Vertex Series 120gig

HDD: $180

So are you saying I should ditch the water cooling altogether? I didn't see any cooling stuff in there.

no, ditch the water cooling on the graphics cards...

i would water cool the motherboard and the processor, thats really all you need.

the air coolers on the graphics cards will keep them plenty cool and give you plenty of room for over-clocking them

i didnt list anything for water cooling because im not good at putting together water build lists.

4 hd 5870s is just silly, unless all this pc is going to be used for is benching. even then it's really not worth it unless you just like to throw money away.

@ earwicker, what about an OS? what about a monitor or monitors, keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc? i'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume that these are to be included in your budget?

LOL are you kidding me? Max stable load, 120w. I wouldnt put my i5 under that thing. Idle 40c to -55c. That is horrible and the price proves it. My unit kept my 4.8ghz i5 at -44c fully loaded.

You read right, but I do not believe that it comes with all of the fans
Straight from Cooler Master's website
"Front:230 x 30 mm red LED fan on/off x 1
Top:200 x 30mm fans x 2 (one optional)
Side:200 x 30mm fan x 1
Rear:140 x 25mm fan x 1
VGA Fan Duct:120 x 25 mm or 120 x 38 mm fan x 1(optional)
VGA Holder:80 x 15 mm fan x 1(optional)"
so...add them optional fans to your shopping list!
