By the time Windows 7 comes out, that stuff will be outdated and/or half the cost it is now, probably.

No faith in vista. Has the service packs made it any better?

Yes, Vista is quite good, all rants about them after SP1, are all lies... or they are just n00bs

SP1 made Vista loads better. I was among the initial Vista haters, if that's any assurance.

Windows 7 out in 2 weeks? o_O Where the **** did you hear that?

Windows 7 doesn't have an official release date yet, but it won't be until late 2009 or 2010 I believe.

And Vista is completely fine.

Personally I never had a issue with Vista except for a few things being a little harder to do. Like changing the location of the user and public folder after a install, but no big deal really. Was always more stable for me, especially when I would overclock to much and would have a bad boot.
