Default new dvd drive

i bought a sata dvd drive its detected in the bios, but it isnt in my computer, nothing happens when you put a disk in either any sugestions, its on an asus p5w too

I don't know how to help you but I am interested in how the drive ends up working. I almost bought a SATA DVD drive instead of IDE but then just got the cheaper IDE for times sake. I'm sure someone will respond so don't worry.
