The X1950XT is no slouch, and is a killer deal at its current price range. We are talking about a GTS and not a GTX.

Considering we have no idea as to your motherboard, I would suggest adding another gig of RAM, a better GFX card, and maybe a stronger PSU to push the card. If your board supports C2D, you can go with one later. If not, a new mobo/CPU will be your next upgrade.
