Default More memory or next in series?

Which would be better. A Radeon 4850 1 GB or Radeon 4870 512 mb. My resolution for my new monitor is 1920 x 1080.

Yea, the 4850 1Gb is pointless when you can get a 4870 with DDR5 memory.

I might be able to spend a little more if it's worth it. How's this? Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100259L Radeon HD 4870 512MB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards. Do you think this will lower to 150 because i think it might have already been lowered.

On that res you would benefit from getting the 1GB 4870 if you can. Look around forums for people selling them. Maybe some retailer is having a deal on one too.

I know this is a little above your budget but not too far.
