Default I see people saying the gtx 260 core 216 is as good as the gtx 280

How is this when the core 216 is cheaper? I've seen people say it is as good in games. Does that mean the only reason to upgrade to the 280 would be for video editing or something. On a side note, is there a place to look to see when new video cards are coming out or when prices are expected to drop.

I've never heard them say as good as GTX 280, but I have heard it said to be equal to or slightly better in some games as the HD 4870 1GB.

It can beat the GTX 280 when overclocked.

Not that much.

It has 216 shaders instead of 192. And if it doesnt beat it comes very very close.

Nah pencil mod isnt necessary.

And core 216's dominate GtX 260's in SLI as well.

Plus theyre so much cheaper it makes the GTX 280 not worth it.
