3dmark scores dont matter that much anyways. As long as the computer runs and does what you want it too do, its good. 3dmark is just a neat way of bragging.
I got 8340 on my rig with:
AMD Opteron 148 @2915MHz
1x1GB Mushkin eXtreme Performance
eVGA 7800GT CO @220MHz/1220MHz
I got somewhere in the 7000's with everything the same but my video card was at the stock 470MHz/1200MHz. OC that video card a little bit and you will see that score bump up a good deal.
3d mark is quite innacurate, it gives a x1800xt a score of 11,000 and a 7800gtx a score of 8,000. However when they are compared during games, they are level.
