Default Ddr3?

What is the difference in DDR2 and DDR3 Ram and will the new DDR3 ram fit in my computer. Compaq EVO N610C?

That notebook supports DDR ram, not DDR3.

DDR3 ram is not backwards compatible with DDR2 slots nor DDR or vice versa.

DDR3 has lower voltage but higher latency clocks. Here for anything you want to know about DDR3:
