I have $1800CDN to build myself a new gaming PC as my current one is still good, but I wish to put it to rest from gaming and use it just for other recreational purposes.

Seeing as newegg does not offer shipping to Canada (that I am aware of) Canada Computers is probably my best best for getting things.

I already have a video card: ATI RADEON X1800 XT 512MB PCI EXPRESS VGA DDR3 X1800XT

I am currently an AMD user, however from what I have read in the forums people are saying to go with Intel, specifically the E6600 so I probably will stick to that advice.

I also want to get a 19" WS LCD monitor, so I am planning to go with one from BenQ as it is what I think the best price for what I am getting at $219.99

Aside from that I plan on getting 2 WD Caviar SATA 250gb HDD to give me ample space. Other than that all suggestions are open. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thought perhaps I would add a possible build and see might be improved upon. Keep in mind all prices are in Canadian dollars.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 - $369.99
MOBO: Asus P5B Deluxe - $213.99
RAM: OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 2GB kit (2x1024) Dual Channel, Special Ops Edition, 800mhz - $279.99
HHD: WD Caviar 250GB SATAII - $177.98 ($88.99 x2)
Drives: LG GSA-H22N 18x8x18 DVD+/-RW - $73.58 ($36.79 x2)
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 500W Power Supply - $88.99 ($68.99 after a $20 mail-in rebate)
CASE: Thermaltake Soprano MT - $94.99
MONITOR: BenQ FP92W 19" Wide-Screen LCD - $219.99

And then of course my video card which I already have:

VIDEO CARD: ATI RADEON X1800 XT 512MB PCI EXPRESS VGA DDR3 X1800XT

Total: $1519.50+tax ($1737.92)
