Default Which AMD?

As much as I woudl like to have a dual core, it is well beyond my current price range for a new system. I have been figuring on getting a 3700+ for the larger L2 cache. My querstion is if that is a good idea os should I go with a 3800+ at 2.4 GHz but with only a 512 L2?

spend an extra $27(over the 3800+) and get the opty 165.

you get the cache and the dual core.

The Operating frequency is kinda lower than I had wanted with the opty.

Also. that is a lot more than a 27 diff. I said I coudl not afford dual core, my questioing about the 3700 and 3800 relate to the single core processors.
