Default uses for macros

I'm am getting the logitech g15 gaming keyboard when it finally comes out and it has 15 macro keys with three shift states so in total it has 54 macro keys. I know what a macro is (substitution of a sequence of keys) and it is nice in Counterstrike to buy a certain combination of weapons or WoW to do a combination of spells. But I can't think of many uses for macros outside of games. So what are some practical things you could do using a macro outside of a game? Can you open certain folders, programs or webpages?

Should be able to program the buttons to do just about anything.
Here is a program I use at work that with a few keystrokes you can make it do a lot. Possibilities are endless:

i don't see a program....or is it called here...also....u might wanna get a new hd...don't look like u got a whole lot left considering what u have used up so far...and what all is on those...that's a lotta crap
