I was just looking at the MSY pricelist, and I noticed you can now get a Sapphire X1950 pro for $203

I'd just upgrade to about a gig or a gig and a half of ram.

I read once on the Valve website that the minimum requirements for their games increase over time because of improved graphics, etc. So don't put too much stock into that.

I ran counter strike a little laggy on a system like yours and i added another 512 or ram (giving me a gig) and it runs great.

Is their specific type of ram i should get or just any type of ram. Have any suggestions of some names?

for $471 you can get:

Asus P5VDC-MX - $59
Core 2 Duo E4300 - $154
X1950 pro - $203
1GB DDR2-800 generic - $55

All these prices are at MSY (I go there often)

That'll let you run your games very well
