Well I went ahead and bought the i5-760 and Asus motherboard combo and the G Skill 4gb DDR3 1600 ram plus a DVD drive for around $325
Now I just can't wait to get this thing up and going.
I decided to hold off on the SSD's for now. One reason my Dad is using Windows XP and I heard there is alot more maintenance with SSD's on an XP machine. Plus I am going to wait for prices to drop. Hopefully when the next generation of drives come out, prices will drop then. I may buy one for myself in the next few months and wait a year or two on Dads machine.
Where do you think SSD's will be at a year from now? Will the prices be less than $1 per gb? How much faster are they going to be compared to now or is that limited to the motherboard capability?
