If you're a gamer, I wouldn't bother saving for an i7. Games only use duel core right now, and you could spend the extra cash on a good video card, which is what really matters for running games.
 
yea, onboard is "alright' in most cases, but for real gamers, even a mediocre video card would be better then onboard, since a card is dedicated to the games and such.

The onboard 3200 on that 780G chipset is a mediocre card. It's not like the old Intel Extreme Graphics. That card will actually run some games at medium resolutions.

Though I do like trotter's idea of the 4830. It's nice, cheap, and loads better than the onboard.
