Default Phenom 9150e Quad-Core Upgrade

I am want to upgrade my cpu speed to something around 3Ghz, but I have been told that I will have to replace the chipset and other items as well. What would be my best bet for upgrading my cpu. Any help is appreciated.

Specs:

AMD Phenomtm X4 9150e 64-bit Quad-Core Processor (1.80GHz, 2MB L2 Cache) with AMD64 Technology8
4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM
Systemboard with AMDģ 780G Chipset

it would be better if you could post the motherboard model that will be getting upgraded. you might have to upgrade the bios for it to accept a newer cpu.

btw, have you though about OCing it to see if you can squeeze out some more performance?
