New PC won't stay on

okay i'll just put memtest 86 on a bootable disc and try running that....what do i exactly look for with memtest 86?....I tried one stick with no luck


this is the error i'm getting when i try installing windows

not sure about your error...yet. How far into the installation do you get ?

But run memtest for a whole night with both ram sticks first....

I found this on another site

It's because your installation cd doesn't support your PCI video card with service pack 1. You have to slipstream the CD with SP2 and try installing it from there.
