New pc probably around 600-700 is the money for it..

My dad was going to get a new pc like 6 months ago, I came online and talked to you guys etc.. We had everything worked out and I gave him the list of parts.. he decides against it, and yesterday he said he smelt burning and everything went to poo.. Soooo...

He plays microsoft flight simulator, that's it.. so he does need a gfx card, but obviously nothing great, a new cpu, mobo, and 2 new hard drives, and ram.. He's also using win xp 32 (only uses 3 gigs of ram right?)

So he is also asking if upgrading to win7-32b would be a good idea, and stick 4 gigs of ram into the new rig..

That's $661 with a couple of rebates. He can reuse his old optical drive(s). The WD Black series are awesome and the price point on the 750GB can't be beat, plus it was only a $5 difference between the 1TB Black and the 1TB Green (much slower). If he wanted a more powerful GFX card he can drop the second hard drive and go with a combo that has Win7 and a 5770 for a total $10 less on the whole lot.
