Default Monitor, a recomendation

Hey guys, my family owns a business that does sports action photography. we are currently upgrading our system to a viewstation kiosk-like question to you is what monitor would you recommended for this task? please keep in mind that it needs to be durable as we'll be putting them up, taking them down, and moving them around a good bit. also it needs to be 17" non-widescreen and in the $2-300 range. thanks a lot ^_^ ......also somthing thats is slim line (if its possible)

also, if it came from newegg that would be dandy

If you doing photographs, you can't go wrong with Samsung monitors.. The color and clarity on those are phenomenal..

It seems strange that as photographers you want an average quality screen. What type of light conditions will this be used in? What type of inputs will be needed? Have you considered touch screen option as a kiosk it may be preferable. What will actually be running the screen a computer(mini-itx/ pico itx / atx?)?

This is a very good monitor for photography: - PLANAR PQ1710M-BK Black 17" 5ms LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 800:1 Built in Speakers - LCD Monitors
This is a good monitor and has wide viewing angles which may be better for a kiosk environment - NEC Display Solutions ASLCD73VX-BK Black 17" 5ms LCD Monitor 280 cd/m2 700:1 - LCD Monitors
Touch protected screen
Protouch :: 17" Open Frame Through Glass Serial LCD

If its for a shop window this may be of interest
