Question Help with an upgrade question please

I currently have a pentium 4 2.0 overclocked to 2.66 with 1gb of ram, 80gb hd, ati 9600xt video card. My question is regarding gaming performance. What would be the cheapest way to upgrade my performance? Would upgrading to a Geforce 6800gt make an increase being that my board only has 4xagp? I usually play Starwars galaxies online. I have a cable modem as well. Thank you for any advice and help.

btw the main problem i have is when i play the game i get alot of stuttering and 1 or 2 second pausing in the game. I use adaware programs and defrag my harddrive as well as do a clean boot when i play.

Thanks again

Thats most likely read lag (hard drive).

If you are going to upgrade, get both a faster HD and card.

If you upgrade your vid card, be sure that your PSU can handle it.

Thank you for the replies. One more question. What about adding a Second HardDrive. Just to install and run the game. Would that take care of the hard drive lag?

if it's fairly fast, yes.. 5400rpms is O.K. but I would look for hard drives faster than that w/ 8mb cache

Intel E8400 @ 3.78ghz
8gb (4x2gb) G.SKILL DDR2 1600 @ 420mhz, 5-5-5-12
ASrock P43Twins1600 (hates RAM dividers)
WD Caviar 500gb + 250gb hdd, 32mb cache
eVGA 7900gs @ 585/1700mhz
OCZ GameXStream 600w PSU
Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum
Cooler Master Centurion 5 case
