Default fast socket A help

Hey I need to know what the fastest socket A processor is cuz thats all i got and what im thinkin is that socket A is old and obselete but i dont got much of a choice

IIRC, the Athlon XP 3200+. But seriously, you could probably get a new s754 mobo and proc for less than what you'd find an Athlon XP of that speed for (except maybe on eBay...)

Macdude's right... the 3200+ was the end of the line for the socket A.

i got a skt a cpu for sale and you cant beat the price $10 a skt a duron cpu 1.0 ghz its not the best but it is cheap
