Default buying an OEM harddrive, do i need to buy sata cable?

does the cable come with the hard drive or the mother board or do i need to get one?

The hard drive won't come with anything if it's OEM, I don't know if your motherboard came with any. You'll probably need to buy one.

To find out if your motherboard came with any... did you puy your computer pre-built or did you build it? If the latter, we'd need your motherboard make+model, if the former, then I doubt you'll have any.

your motherboard should have one if not oem. Your hard drive may or may not.

Motherboards and controllers usually come with at least some cables but OEM HDDs don't.
