adding a new HDD with SATA

I built my rig back in March 05, and I put in 2 SATA HDD's. Then I saw tiger direct had 300 gb SATA HDD's for $90 so I picked one up and installed it. When I try to add the new drive to my current raid config the MOBO won't let me add it. I think I have to erase my current raid config and make a new one that includes the new drive. Do I have to do this or is there a way to add it to the current Raid config. And if I erase the current raid and make a new one will I loose all the data I have on the two other drives? Thanks for the help
