Announced this September, the CUDA-optimized PowerDirector 7 has now been introduced by CyberLink. When paired up with a PC that features a GeForce 8 (or above) graphics card, the HD video editing software will make use of GPU power to deliver up to five times faster video previewing and rendering performance while also lowering CPU utilization.

"PowerDirector 7 perfectly illustrates how Nvidia CUDA technology can accelerate complicated PC tasks and improve the PC experience for consumers," said Michael Steele, General Manager, Visual Consumer Solutions at Nvidia. "CyberLink PowerDirector 7 is on the cutting-edge of the visual computing movement and is the first of many innovations we expect CyberLink to deliver for video enthusiasts."

The CUDA-loving PowerDirector 7 is now available for purchase on CyberLink's web store. Those who already own the software will be able to get an update that enables CUDA.

So when does a Graphics Card stop being called a Graphics card and start finally being called a CPU 2.0?

Hmmm... Nvidia is taking the GPU market where its never been before.
Love to see what other goodies they've been optimizing their GPU's for.
