They were actually different questions. I had forgotten I made the other post, and posted here questioning why that cord has 3 ends. The other one was questioning the cord's importance... If I would of remembered that, I would of just tacked the pictures on in the other one.

Still trying to clear something up, I understand it's a pretty old school piece of equipment to use for the audio controls and all, I understand that much... but I have never seen an audio wire like this that had 3 heads. Does it just have 3 heads on the one end so it'll work on different kinds of motherboards or something?
