If it were me, and I were starting my own computer company, I'd base it off of Falcon Northwest. Even though they are outrageously insanley over priced, it'd be cool to say you have a FNW comp.

I was going to get a voodoo laptop until I found the lambo one which doesn't look quite as cool but is about half the price, 3 times better specs and its a Lamborghini come on How could I say no

So I've thought about everyones inpurt and I have talked to a few of my friends about the idea.

I was thinking it'd be cool to have an Art based computer company. Art based meaning each computer case would be artsy. Not like alienware and voodoo pc, but a computer case thats highly influenced by abstract art, or something along those lines.

I don't really want to go into this basing it off any current computer company.

I think another big thing that would help out alot is if I also made home theater pc's. Those are computers more people are going to care if they look nice or not. Alot of HTPC's I've seen are either black, beige, and all look the same. Alinware makes a nice one, but it's extremely overpriced and the front doesn't look too classy IMO.


For costs sake, it might even be smart to start out making cases, as opposed to it being a full fledged computer company.

Thanks man, I'm glad to hear you think so.

It seems like over the past few years home theater pc's have grown in popularity.

With comptuers companes like FalconNW, ABS, Alienware, Voodoo, etc, all pretty much having the high end computer nich on lockdown, making good quality/very attarctive looking and classy home theater PC's would be the best way to go.

With these it's all about low power consumption, low heat, video encoding, and hard drive space. Maybe even intergrading a stereo reciever in it, as opposed to just your stanrd 5.1 sound card.

Maybe my focus can be that, but also sell gaming PC's as well.

lovin the idea's you got floating around. on small budget starting out, cases of all types (HTPC, PC's ect) would be a great idea. get those out, then start putting devices into them as customers decide what they want. but yeah, great idea. might be moving to the seattle area in about two years to complete my edu, if you get it up and going and are still around, I'd be interested in helping

Hey thanks alot. I figured cases would be the best way to start out. Nice! You'll like seattle, i love it up there. it's like 2.5 hours or so from potland, and like an hour or so flight, so its real close.

realisiticly, aslong as I dont run into any un expected bumps in the road, i'd like to get everything up and running within the next year, so i guess well see.

If i wanted a PC i would want to make my own design, much like at tatoo parlors. You have a few standard desgins, but customers could pay a large premium and bring in an image which you could custom design for there pc, you could also buy absolute top notch equipment, other companies by the 8800Ultra, you would buy the 8800Ultra Pearl watercooled, see were im going ?.

Your name is important, Dericks PC's (example...) is not going to get you very far . Try something like Samurai 'Cutting Edge Custom PC's' ... no thats well cheesy, you could call it Samurai *something* though, you could have Samurai Katana 1 PC's for example.

Who wouldnt be proud of owning a PC called a Samurai Katana, with there own custom design for the case hey
