BETAmax did, VHS is about to no longer be produced, betamax is still around

In professional videography Beta is still around but that is going the way of the do-do as well. Remember the Betacam? Those are being replaced with digital camcorders.
So no, Beta hasn't been around much at all in the consumer world.

consumer world it is dead, but studios still use betamax quite a bit, I know this because I haul their tapes around all the time........dropped off some with 3 different TV stations today matter of fact

when you spend anywhere from $1k to $3k on a commercial vcr in whatever format, you use it till it dies or isnt useful any longer

HD DVD will lose since the majority of the companies are supporting the blu-ray

especially the PORN industry

Seems that Sony is still trying to pump BLU RAY as they allready starting to release movies in that format. Like Underworld Evolution is avalable on Blue Ray.

Mind you, sony is also still trying to release UMD movies too. A lost cause in my opinion.

Just like my bicycle. I used to "ghost ride" it, when i would just push it into the school and make it crash into somebody. LOL :)

HAHAHAHAHHA! that sounds great. :D

do you think that there will be (or already is for all i know) i proper UMD player for a TV etc, or is it just for PSP only? also, can you get UMD drives to hook up to a computer...? UMD burners ideally?
