It takes a while to show the eta.

Well, that application i wrote you about works just fine for me, as you can see my command prompt is minimized down by the system clock:

Still not working on Vista 64, tried compatibility mode and such, sometimes it asks for a missing DLL, other times it just comes up with "Test Protein A".

I have 169.04 right now, I'll try the new version. I had to go through this driver nonsense before just to get the ability to overclock (had to use a modded .inf file to install the one I'm using). Probably too old though, so I'll try the new ones. Hopefully this won't interfere with overclocking (hard enough just to get RivaTuner running in 64 since it has that stupid driver lock).

I can't get FahMon to work with the GPU client... I added the CPU client, and it recognizes the progress/etc fine. But I pointed it towards my GPU client's folder, and it doesn't show any progress, ETA, or info at all. How do I get it to work?

Where do you get the right drivers? The link you posted wasn't 64 bit. I'm using Windows Vista 64 bit edition and an 8600M GS.

And I hate rapidshare, downloaded the wrong one on accident and now it's making me wait 20 min...ridiculous, find a decent file host, premium sites are stupid. Never mind, I think I have the modded .inf with 8600M GS support already from my previous attempts at installing better drivers on this thing. Now I'm downloading the 177.35 Vista x64 driver, I'll throw in the modded .inf I already have, and hopefully will be folding like crazy tonight.

Those drivers are too old, and dont support cuda which is why the client wont work. Install the new drivers and youl should be able to run the client fine. Overclocking a laptop gpu is not a good idea anyways, and this will stress the gpu heavily as well.

Go back a few posts of mine and i explained it already.

All the drivers are there.

Finally getting it to actually install driver components, I think it may be working! (It's still installing though, but that's better than most of my previous attempts). It installed, I'll see if it works after the restart.

It's now working! However, the viewer app is horrible because it keeps crashing and lagging and not updating. The core seems to work fine (holding mouse over icon on system tray shows it's working) but every time I open the viewer it sits there black for a bit, then works nicely and smoothly for a few seconds, then locks and doesn't update and can't be closed except by force (task manager or not responding dialog).

...Tested it again...the core is running (systray icon says 200/5000) but the viewer says Core isn't running and displays the Test Protein A thing...wtf?

I'm also running the CPU client as well, CPU isn't used much by the GPU client so why not :)
