Do you leave a mark when you visit a site?

Will somebody be able to tell if you were at a site if you were there for less than a couple hours and didn't leave any information and didn't sign up for anything would somebody be able to know that you had visited this site somehow? Thanks in advance to anyone who could help?

Just clear your internet history and delete all your cookies. Even then there is a small chance of a sassy computer dude finding what you've been looking at (but only if they have access to your PC)...

prettymuch every server keeps a logfile with IP addresses and connection times

you can always bounce thru a proxy server which will cover your tracks and browse with cookies and browser ID turned off, that would make you pretty invisible

Plus the IP address the server would store technically isn't your IP address especially if you go through a proxy or router with subnet mask.
