Trojan Horse Found on computer i am rebuilding

The Past Several Weeks i have been rebuilding a windows 98 and dis morning i found that the computer had this trojan horse on it its called Trojan Horse Dialer.23.aw i tried to find out wtf that one does but no luck anyway anyone able to give me a hand and also i know the antivirus software is way out of data so i am unable to transfer new and updated files onto the computer to give it a good clean is there any other way cuz last nite i tried to install my 40gb ipod but cudnt install it cuz it was looking for the drives for the ipod

Should be nothing to much to worry about I get trojans all the time just run adware removal and spyware programs often.
