System Recovery

I noticed my computer had so much junk and little virus errors that I decided I wanted to just use system recovery to give it a fresh start. However when I rebooted and pressed F10 for system recovery it started loading and then the screen went black and it just stayed like that for 10 minutes until I turned the computer off.

What is wrong with it?

The system restore is set up on that system. What kind of PC is it? If it is an OEM version then you will need to boot from the XP cd and format and reinstall.
