Hello! I'm new to these forums, and I hope you can help me out here.

I've recently downloaded Ad-Aware 6.0, Spybot Search and Destroy, and SpySweeper. I ran Ad-Aware and Search and Destroy, found some small bugs, re-ran the scans, and came up clean the second time. HOWEVER! When I ran SpySweeper, it detected a few files, I supposedly quarantined them, and ran it again. They're still there. Of the remaining, there's a few Adware and one big thing...IOpus Starr...So, I did my research, and I've come to learn that IOpus is a monitoring program ideally for network admins and parents. There's a few things which don't make much sense about IOpus.

1. Why didn't AdAware and SpyBot detect it?

2. I read that IOpus can only be installed MANUALLY (I assume only physically; I ran HijackThis so I doubt it could have been hijacked) on the computer or by a network admin. How do I have it?

3. Why won't it go away!

This is vital for me to figure out, as my security is at risk!

Note: I ran HijackThis and all the files there are legit (alright), and from progs such as FlashGet

Help!

Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware probably don't cosider monitoring software for parents and company employers to be spyware or adware. Have you tried looking in Add/Remove programs list and seeing if you can just uninstall it from there?

1. As Aye29 said, I don't think individual machine keyloggers are picked up as spyware or malware.

2. Is this your privately owned machine? Or is it a work machine, or parents machine? The person that installed it would probably not have notified you of the installation.

3.iOpus's ActMon software is password protected so that no one but the installer/administrator can get to it. Same with its log files. It will not be in you Add/Remove programs list.
