Upon looking for some Happy Sweetest Day HTML comments, I came across a few sites that offered what I thought I was looking for. When I clicked the link, AVG alereted me that it was an Exploit Rogue Scanner. So if you see this or anything else like this, the safest way to get around this is to open the Task Manager, right click iexplorer.exe and click End Process Tree, which should kill all instances of Internet Explorer. These are from AVG 9.0 and MSE of which they both cleaned automatically.

Below are some screenshots that I went through for you all to see

I hope you mean two separate computers, as you cannot have both of those programs installed on one Windows computer at the same time, as your thread has implied.

Actually, looking at one of your pics, it shows that you did get infected
Else you would not have even seen that picture (I notice you had tech-forums opened (in a tab) at the time, so I see this was your computer)

The picture shows that you need to run Malware removal as soon as possible
AND shows that both AVG and MSE (depending on which one was installed, or both?) did not protect you from this rogue program

I have then confirmed (for your benefit) that having free Avira installed, this program would have been stopped before installing on your computer as it obviously did

Can you explain how AVG and/or MSE missed this Malware from running on your computer? (as the pic definitely confirms)

Osiris is well-versed in Internet Security, mate ;) I'm sure he has it all under control. He was just letting us know what to do if this or something similar occurs.

The only thing i see confirmed for sure, is that there is an infection. I do not see any evidence that shows these infections were active or executed on the system. There is a major difference between downloading and having a infection active.

The only thing for certain is that Avira did block the infection for you. The only thing for certain is that Osiris downloaded files that were infected. There is no Task Manager to show that the infection was active. So to claim that MSE and AVG missed it running on the machine is incorrect as you have no proof that they were active. The only thing the pic shows is that AVG and MSE caught the infection. It doesnt identify if it is a process or a file. As it doesnt give the description of exactly where it is located, only a description of what the infection is.

I've been waiting for you to reply to this........

First of all, as soon as you click that link, that message appeared from AVG. The first time I closed it, but then said what the heck, I'll go thru some of the screenshots for everyone here. So went back got the same message and a few more. I did infect myself somewhat but not all the way. It required you to download the program shown in the screenshots which I didnt.

Both AVG and MSE did protect me. MSE popped up about the infection as you can see in the last screenshot.

And yes I have both on my system at the same time and you can have them installed on the same pc at the same time. There are some AV's out there that wont play nice together and some that will. Both AVG and MSE are more than just a standalone AV, they are spyware, trogran, etc removers as well.

And since you mentioned Avira, I will uninstall AVG and MSE for you, install Avira and see what happens. You still think Avira is better than AVG, (in your opinion)? You still think its bad to have both MSE and AVG installed on the same pc?

I went back to the same link, Avira didnt notice nothing was going on. I went thru the whole process, even downloading the program and it still didnt notify me.

That's interesting. AVG has not scored very high in detection in a while. Would you mind doing that again with Avast? I'm just curious.

I seem to be running into an issue with avast...
