Backing up software for home PC

I use Microsoft's sync toy. It's free, easy to use, etc etc etc.
Download details: SyncToy 2.1

Uses a lot of built in functionality in the windows OS to help it, so it's more resource friendly than your average backup solution.

+1

I need to use it at home. I set it up at the place I used to work in High School, so it backs up all of our machines' documents over the network, and it works like a charm. I set it so Task Scheduler runs each backup job at a different time interval, as well.

+1 for SyncToy been using it for a while now and it does a great job of syncing my external and internal drives.
Mind you i have a scheduled task set-up so I don't have to manually sync.

So using the SyncToy , you back up your internal hard drive to an external back up drive right. I think that sounds like the safest approach so that the two are seperate physically.

Or you could do it to another internal drive, a network drive, etc. Main thing is that you're backing up to a location other than the local HDD.
