Yahoo messenger does not work

Hi

Preamble. There are three questions here, they are all related as I don't want the same problem on my daughters computer.

I had a virus or two (trojans) and cleaned up the system. It is clean !

Yahoo messenger does not work anymore. I select a friend and in the chat window is a 'P'. If I type some text in and press send the text dissapears and no message aperas in the chat window, just the 'P'.

I have deinstalled and re-installed - no change

I have a DSL connection with the German telekom. DSL WLAN router actiavted firewall. AVG antiVir program and Zone alarm. I had all this installed before and yahoo messenger worked then.

Any ideas

Gaim is better

It does everything Trillian can do, and it has tabbed IMing like Firefox has tabbed browsing.
