my friend is trying to hook 2 computers to the same internet connection, I was wondering if he was to hook a router into the internet connection instead of the one computer then hook the original computer plus 1 more to the router to get internet to both of computers. would this work?

Yes,it will work exactly like that. You can share files, browse the internet, etc.

XP makes it a snap, just run the network wizard on both comps.

Just name the workgroup the same, reboot and your done.
