Aright, so I'm looking to use two routers to create two networks and have both of these routers hooked up the same modem. My goal is to have these two networks completely independent from each other so they cannot view, access, or interact with each other in any way.

What would be the best way to do this? If I hooked a switch up to the modem and the two routers (on separate subnets) to the switch, would this even be enough to keep them separate?

I hope that all makes sense. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,
~Greg

You are correct, if you plugged the routers into the switch they wouldn't be able to interact. By their nature, switches keep connections completely seperated.

I know you didn't ask for product recommendations, but I think this is a cheap solution for you. Looks like it has good reviews as well.

Okay, so there would be no way whatsoever for a computer on Router 1 to connect to a computer on Router 2?
