how to download a website?

my friends hard drive completely fried - I even tried using getdata back to try and get files to no avail

I was wondering if you can download an entire website with vista?

It can be done. But you must have express permission from the owners. Until we know that there is permission we can not help anymore than that.

he was asking me if I could find out how to get his website, so he could redesign it

Well he should have server access since he had to upload the files in the first place. What good would it do him to download it if he cant upload it back when he is done? He will need server access to upload the new files and have them be seen not the ones he has now.

So downloading the site will do him absolutely no good. Since he cant put the new files on. he will have to remember his server details or contact his host for the site to get the information.
