Enable tabs in FireFox

Did they change something in FF 1.0.5 and 1.0.7?
I don't see how to enable tabs in FF. How do I make links open in a new tab instead of a new window?

I have/had the same issue with tabs. Even with it set to open links in tabs, it still defaulted to a new window. After scouring the net for insight, I just went back to the ftp site and grabbed 1.0.5 again.

i use the tabbrowser extension.

never had a problem.

So, if I understand this correctly, there's no way to use them, besides clicking New>tab? That just sucks.

I don't want to install extensions. I want tabbed browsing out of the box. But it's not that important, cause I only use FireFox for testing my website.
