email problem

My dad is having a wierd problem with his email where he keeps getting the same messages that he recieved the day before and new messages comming in more than one time. It said he had 200 new emails but they are either doubles or old messages.

How can I fix this

what email service is he using? what client is he using? is his email file located on the local pc?

he has an email account @ sympatico and uses outlook express.

what type of inet connection, dialup or broadband?

you can try uninstalling and/or reinstalling OE. make sure to delete the mail account and setup from scratch.

get the lastest version of OE while your at it.

its a dial up connection

I think i have it fixed now, his email got to about 1240 emails in the inbox then just froze and crashed the whole freakin computer after that so I deleted his email account and set it up again and the problem seems to have stopped.
