When i got firefox and installed it, it seemed to be working fine but when i scroll about a inch down or up it freezes for about 10 seconds or more and goes not responding. Then goes normal and i scroll again and the same thing. So i reformated my computer for that and other reasons. Same thing happens. maybe ill just stick with trusted microsoft. but any help? IE has NO problems at all

Firefox can be slightly more resource hungry than IE(Internet Explorer) What version of windows are you using? And what are the system specs of the computer you are using. Here are some tips to speed up firefox when running it on windows.

1.Make sure you have the latest version of firefox (1.07 reccomened, 1.5 is still in beta so can be somewhat buggy)

2.Download and run firetune:
http://www.totalidea.com/freestuff4.htm
it optimizes firefox for your processor and connection speed.

3.Download and install Firefox Preloader:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffpreloader/
it loads parts of firefox into memory so that it runs faster.

Using these methods went from completely useless to somewhat usable on a Pentium 1 166mhz, and on my Athlon Xp system load times are as fast or faster than IE

Good Luck!!

yes with AOL and Firefox what could the problem be tho? Its cannot be a virus or spyware or anything of that sort.

...If you were only having this problem with one browser, I'd say it was the browser. But you're having problems with multiple browsers. Your problem is bigger.

Remove/reinstall/update.
