Stuffit Expander Not Responding

Well, I was meandering through my local Borders, and I came across a Mac magazine with a CD that was loaded with games and stuff. I popped in the CD, and tried to open one of the .sit files with stuffit expander. The icon in the dock just kept bouncing up and down, until about a minute later, and it just sat there. There was no thing at the top of my screen that said "Stuffit Expander, File, Edit, bla bla bla." I control-clicked the icon, and it said it wasn't responding.

Now I can't open the disc that came with the stupid rip-off fifteen dollar magazine. I scourged the Stuffit website, which is extremely slow, and found nothing. Does anyone know what I can do?
