I just recently installed osx from os9 without upgrading my firmware. Now my computer turns and the drives boots for about seven sec or so. the screen is black when the computer is on. And i can't get the osx disc out of the slot loader. Would like to fix this myself can anyone suggest how?

Well OSX wont install at all unless the firmware is up to date, so I would have no idea why that is happening.

To eject the disk, during start up, hold down the mouse. That should eject the CD. But leave the cd in the comp. Then shut the computer down and start it back up, holding the "C" key. That should boot you into OSX. From there you can run diagnostic tools or reinstall OSX if need be.

"Mac Rule,..."

To turn of firmware in most macs, just hold dow the control S (or F) key before the startup sound. If thad dosn't work, Use the OS X startup CD (If that's what you have,) to format your drive over. Hope that works
