backup for mac and pc

anybody know a centralized backup solution for both the mac and pc? just want to backup files from the workgroup machines to a file server.

see if the mac thing will run samba, it should if its running OS X, if it will, then all the shared files on all the drives can be backed up, even with a simple script(even if you have to write one),im sure someone out there has done this..........check sourceforge for it

You can also investigate NAS (network Attached Storage) devices, which are like small standalone file servers. These work with Windows and OS X mostly, because they are SMB: based.

Tritton, LaCie, Maxtor, IOGear, Buffalo, Linksys and others make them.
Some of them have Windows backup software included, you're mostly on your own to source Mac software for automating backup.
