Hi!

new here and looking for some help!

Have an HP Pavillion desktop PC with no wireless capabilities, but because the phone socket is in the next room and requires an extension lead (which i keep tripping over), have decided to go wireless.

i've just done it as best i could, but because the wireless router needed to be connected to the PC with the ethernet cable, as well as being connected to the phone socket (through a microfilter), i had to put the router next to the PC and use the extension lead again to plug it in to the phone socket. it seems to be workign fine, but how do i make it go wireless now? if i unplug the ethernet cable and the extension lead and just plug the router back in at the phone socket, will it work??? if not, how do i make the wireless, wireless???

many thanks

First, what's the brand and model of your router and second do you have a wireless card for your desktop?

And this is a DSL Internet service I assume?

Can you please share what the resolution was so as to assist any other users that may have a similar trouble?
