Hello everyone...

I have a D-Link DWL+900 Accesspoint.

I have 2 questions concerning it...

-1
The default username is "admin" as we all know...

Is there any possible way to change it?

-2
Is there any possible way to restrict access to it by any other accesspoint/computer unless it's directly connected to it?

I mean I don't want it to be detected by ALL APs in the area if possible, and if it was detected, whenever someone tries to access it, it give him an ACCESS DENIED or something, unless he's directly connected to it *through network cable*

(Does MAC Address filtering do a good job concerning that or is there a better option to choose from?)

Thanks in advance ^^

Ummm your AP is connected by a cat 5 cable to a router ...right ?
you should have a set up disk that should let you configure your ap for security..forget about hiding the ssid , changing the channel
those are a waste of time. What you should do is set encryption the highest level your wireless AP / work stations will support. I suggest WPA oveR WEP. As far as the changing the admin of the password. I think that on one occasion i configured a linksys that would accept the id of the user that was logged on at the time i configured the router, I am still going to say no. just use a strong password.
