i want to but i dont knwo how i should go about this. the computer is running linux and i dont know what to do . as far as the router part i have my network runnning wireless with this computer. but i dont know what to do to make it active on the router end.

well im installing it right know slackware 10.1 on a old k6 computer.

the person who give me this computere had it for her son to use the internet so i know pci does work for internet old but good.

Is it a wired NIC that you will be using?

You will need to ensure that the device is listed in the /dev directory. If so you will need to run a DHCP daemon to pick up an I.P address from the router (assuming you use DHCP). I think slackware uses dhclient.
