vmware 5 collision?

Yesterday I installed the vmware 5 in my 32-bit winxp system. Then come a serials of problems.
1. There are pop-up dialog box occasionally saying your computer will shutdown in one minute.
2. When I press windowns button, the start menu doesnt show.
3. I cannt surf the web in ie. It will close automaticly.
4. I cannt run my dr.com software which is for internet connetion saying the port has been occupied.
5. When I uninstall the vmware, it said that I havent installed windows installer.
6. I cannt find my network connection icon. It reminds me that please make sure that network connection service has been started.

Is it software collision or have I got virus? How can I solve the problem?

Sound a lot like a virus problem...not sure why VMware would act up like that. I have installed and work with VMware workstation a lot on many computers and never seen or heard of those kind of symptoms from it.

Reboot into safe mode and uninstall VMware if the problem started after installing the application. While in safe mode start scanning for spywares and viruses. I suggest you check out the virus section for help, it includes a good guide to get rid of spywares.
