Is there a way to get past the 11 MBPS limit or somthing


cuase I remember my freind getting like 54 mbps or somthing but I dont know how.



I remember reading somthing about how they limit you too 11 MBPS....


Is there any way I can up it some more?

and sorry if Im not being specific, I just really dont know what Im talking about in this hardware section.

802.11b speeds are capped at 11mbps

802.11g speeds are capped at 54mbps

when there are both b and g devices, the speed "should" drop to 11mbps. i've heard many horror stories about networks with mixed devices.

you will find g devices touting 100+mbps. i think this was a enhancement engineerers found while tweaking the 802.11g standard.

Ok that makes sense.


Cuase I have a wirless G adapter, and a B router.


But my next door neighbor must have a G router, hence the 54mbps....
