im new here but im having a bad network problem i hope u can help. basically. im trying to have a my main router upstairs and a AP downstairs with my xbox on it. and the AP connecting to the router upstairs but i cannot get it to work
ok got a BT wireless router upstairs, which connects to the net directly. ive got a xbox 360 downstairs with a wireless B Access Point.
i got wds on, on the BT router and select the AP when it finds it. then i set the AP to Client mode and search for the BT router and select it so in theory they are connected. i then set up the ips. i have the Access point gate way ip as the the ip as the BT router. and i have the xbox gateway as the AP ip.
now when i connect to Live it gets passed the ip check but always DNS fail. everytime,
i think that the AP is not letting dchp through as if i plug my laptop into the AP it wont access the net at all. nothing even if i manualy enter the DNS ip's into the xbox and my laptop it still wont work,
please some advice as im pulling my hair out ive tried it for like 7 hours
