Questions about ip addresses

i want to set up static ip's for the computers on my network and i have a few questions

1. do i need to turn off DHCP on my router and if so how?

2. Since my router has DHCP what ip addresses do i give to each computer

Look into your router configuration page, there should be a DHCP section. It's as simple its selecting enable or disable. All routers are different so we don't know exactly where your DHCP setup is.

If you use static IPs then it wont matter if DHCP is on because the computers wont get the IP info from the router.
